Curiouser and Curiouser: The Story Behind My Alice Art Prints
Have you ever wondered what Alice in Wonderland would look like if it were painted by a 19th-century master?
That is exactly the question that inspired my vintage-style art pieces. I wanted to capture the whimsical, slightly surreal world of Lewis Carroll but ground it in the moody, textured aesthetic of a classical oil painting.
In these exclusive artworks, Alice is depicted in a muted blue Victorian dress, standing on a misty, atmospheric croquet lawn.
The first piece "The Rules of Wonderland" features heavy canvas textures, fine crackle glazes, and a rich, antique color palette designed to make it look like an authentic gallery find. It balances childhood nostalgia with sophisticated home décor. Instead of a standard mallet, she holds her makeshift equipment, flanked by a stately pink flamingo and a very curious little hedgehog inspecting a golf ball.
The piece "Alice on the Green", Alice's character design shifts into a more stylized, haute-Victorian look. Her equipment has evolved as well. Instead of a rustic kitchen ladle, she holds a long-handled croquet mallet. Her companions return with striking presence: a brilliantly pink flamingo stands tall by her side, and a tiny, sharp-eyed hedgehog watches closely from below.
The background features a brighter, painterly blue sky with soft cloud formations, all rendered over a heavily aged canvas texture that feels like a treasured museum artifact.
Creating a Perfect Pair
These pieces were specifically designed to complement each other. Displaying them side-by-side creates a powerful narrative arc on your wall. They work beautifully together to create:
-
Symmetrical focal points over a fireplace or console table
-
A curated, high-end look for an eclectic nursery
-
The ultimate anchor pieces for a fantasy-themed gallery wall
